Gord McKenna

Gord started his radio work back in the 60s in Germany when he was in the RCAF. He first worked at a volunteer station ,CFN-Zweibrucken. A member station of the Canadian Forces Radio Network in Europe. Gord at that time, pretty well did any type of show from Jazz to Country but never Classical. Eventually he stayed with country. While a member of CFN-Z he did many interviews with top country stars, Little Jimmy Dickens, Hank Thompson, Charlie Pride, Hank Snow,etc.

On his return to Canada in 1969 and based at CFB Comox he worked for the local radio station on week-ends doing a request show.

Gord has worked for CFIS for a few months now and started off doing the midnight to six show, Monday to Friday to get his feet wet again before he was slotted for a country show on Saturdays.
