Life Through A Broken Windshield PDF Print E-mail

HostLife Through A Broken Windshield is a 90 second commentary about the life of a 72 year old retired truck driver who thinks he is a humorist, a writer, a broadcaster and other fantasies when in fact he is just, as I have said, an old retired truck driver who likes to complain. My program, although it should not be taken as gospel, because it is based on what I read in the news paper or watch on TV, should be entertaining. I have a belief that if you can’t laugh at your self you should never laugh at others.

My family moved to Prince George, when I was 3 years old. King George V is where I spent 6 frustrating years trying to learn grammar, as did my son and eldest Grandson Mathew. I quit school when I was 15 half way through grade eight and went to work in sawmills and the logging industry. Then I joined the Canadian Navy in1954 where I spent 10 very interesting years traveling around the world ‘Fighting red aggression and social diseases in the service of my country’, (this is a cheap plug for a yet to be published book I have written).

In 1968 I moved my family, which I had amassed over the previous 10 years, one wife Barbara, one son Micheal and a daughter Karen from the so called civilized world, Vancouver? To the back woods of north central BC, Prince George, because I love the town or maybe it’s drinking the Necako river water. But alas my town is growing up with all the Big Box Stores, Casinos, and a City Council, that like most minor, or major politicians, have trouble grasping reality.
