About the Show

My name is Bill Ollinger and I am the host of The BillyO Classics Show here on 93.1 CFIS FM. I invite you to tune in every Saturday night to listen to great music from 1964 to 1989, everything rock from folk rock, blues rock, metal and hair straight back rock. Some shows will have a theme to them, like our recent Canada Day, 4th of July and Les Paul shows, and our upcoming Sports Music and Halloween shows. I have good Canadian rock mixed in every show, along with a few other treasures found on records I collect from my Saturday mornings garage saling! I have attended many concerts over my lifetime and love live music. The best sound other than live music is on vinyl, and I am an avid collector, especially LP cover artwork, which has become a dead industry with CD's. Hopefully, like most everything else, what is old will become new again.

Having been born and raised in Prince George, I have seen this City grow and prosper while at the same time make it through the lean times, making our town more resourceful, resilient and a place to raise a family and experience all that the North has to offer. I graduated from College Heights Secondary School, attended the College of New Caledonia where I achieved an Associate of Arts Degree in Criminology, later attended Simon Fraser University and was on my way to a law degree but I sidetracked from that as I began to share my life with the woman of my dreams, my wife, Chari. 19 years later, we now are homeowners, working on having children (we have 6 nephews and 2 nieces that keep us entertained!) and enjoy camping, the outdoors, a cruise holiday every couple of years, and each other's company.

My employment has been varied, with all of my employment assisting me in my career in real estate. I was employed for over 12 years at various law firms as a Legal Assistant and Conveyancing Secretary, a profession that closely mirrors aspects of the real estate world. I have over 8 years experience in marketing/sales/promotions as I have worked for both the WHL Prince George Cougars and the BCHL Prince George Spruce Kings. I have been a small business owner, having co-owned a local gift shop, and have also worked in retail and newspaper sales. I also facilitate a marketing workshop every 3 months for Community Futures as I wish for new entrepreneurs to grow and prosper on their shoestring budgets with less heartache and more enjoyment. I coach Minor Boys Fastball, play slo-pitch, badminton, ice hockey and am always open to learning and enjoying new things.
