Open Perspectives
Time: Sunday Nights 6pm-7pm
Hi, my name is Kam and I welcome you to tune in to ‘open perspectives’ on 93.1 CFIS fm, Sundays 6-7 pm. A program that will surely give you a new and fresh perspective about life and its purpose, the soul, spirituality and religion, solutions to social issues that would be encouraging, uplifting, and heart warming. Some things that may have never made sense to some of us before, may become clearer. The program will view things in the world from the point of view of oneness and unity. God, human race, and religions are discussed to be one and united. We will discuss many other interesting topics in an atmosphere that will be both encouraging yet challenging to prevailing ideas, thoughts, and actions. The aim of the program is to create dialogue among all of us from various backgrounds, whether racial, religious, social, political, national, and so on, to allow the walls of prejudice and superstition to collapse and to understand better and appreciate more each others’ view points and perspectives, so we can work together to build a better community – a better world for all to live in.
We will also look at various other topics of interest as the purpose of life, human nature, science and religion, women and men, good and evil, soul and life after death, purpose of prayers and meditation.
Our own perspective, is that of the Baha’i Faith and its writings. The central message being that of unity and oneness - unity of God, of humanity, and religion. That these different religions are like the different chapters of one book whose Author is God. They share the same purpose – the spiritual education and progress of mankind. Christ said: in John chapter 16, verses 12 and 13 – I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth…
The Bahá’í Faith is a world religion whose purpose is to unite all the races and peoples in one universal Cause and one common Faith. Bahá’ís are the followers of Baha'u'llah, Who they believe is the Promised One of all Ages. As you know, the traditions of almost every people include the promise of a future when peace and harmony will be established on earth and humankind will live in prosperity. Baha'is believe that the promised hour has come and that Baha'u'llah, the Prophet Founder of the Baha’i Faith, is the great Personage Whose teachings will enable humanity to build a new world. In one of his writings, Baha'u'llah says: "That which the Lord hath ordained as the sovereign remedy and mightiest instrument for the healing of all the world is the union of all its peoples in one Universal Cause, One common Faith." The Baha’i Writings also state that “to be a Baha'i simply means to love all the world; to love humanity and try to serve it; to work for universal peace and universal brotherhood"
